How do you know if exposure to trauma is affecting you? Here are early warning signs:

Medical Problems

For instance: headaches, sleeping problems, HBP, changes in weight, digestive issues, etc.

Emotional Impact

This includes feeling “keyed up,” constant need to scan surroundings, irritability, sarcasm, negative attitude, quick tempered, increase in nicotine or alcohol use, numbness.

Social Impact

This manifests as marital or family problems, social withdrawal, lack of trust, broken relationships, etc.

Professional Impact

Examples include: increase in the number of sick days used, conflicts, decrease in self-awareness and job satisfaction.
